LUCE DUET is a collaborative project between cellists Charlotte Kube and Wendy Ju that aims to bring both beloved and underappreciated classical music to new audiences. Charlotte and Wendy have always loved playing chamber music, in particular the cello ensemble. Charlotte and Wendy completed their Bachelor of Music (with honours) together at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music. During this time, they often played together in a cello quartet (even extending to a cello septet later on). They relished the opportunities to perform unique repertoire written specifically for cello ensemble, and this is one of the many reasons they decided to form LUCE DUET. Charlotte currently works as a cello teacher and freelance musician, and Wendy has just completed her Masters in Music Performance (Teaching) alongside her ongoing work as a cello teacher. Charlotte and Wendy look forward to expanding their repertoire and bringing LUCE DUET to wider audiences in 2024.
