About Dusk Mouth 名

DUSK MOUTH 名 is a duo of composer-writer Xiaole Zhan (詹小乐) and violinist May Zeng. They create and perform socially engaged new music that blends poetry and sound. They have premiered music at the Brunswick Mechanics Institute, in the 2024 New Music Studio series, on 3MBS radio, and has been screened internationally in Berlin. DUSK MOUTH 名 comes from the Chinese character for 'name' (名), which combines 'dusk' (夕) and 'mouth' (口). A name — like music — is a call in the dark.
